Adding a network printer through a link from Outlook

NOTE To request a link to install a specific printer visit The Hub or call (773) 298-HELP (4357).

1. Double click on the printer Link sent to you in the email.

Example network printer link: \\print2\S119_pr1 for printer

or 

Example Canon MFD link: \\uniflow2\CanonSecurePrint

NOTE This link must be clicked on through the Outlook application on your computer. It will not work through exchange.sxu.edu. 

2. Once you have clicked the link in your Outlook application a window will appear asking you if you wish to open the mail attachment. Click the Open button.

3.  The pop ups will appear and will run scripts to install the driver.

  • The first script is looking for a driver.
  • The second script is downloading the driver.
  • The third script connects to the printer and finishing the installation.

4. A pop up window will appear to confirm that you have installed the printer properly. You can close this box and now begin printing to the machine.
