Audience: Faculty and Staff
Teams live events are gone. Microsoft retired Teams live events on June 30, 2026. Town halls replace them. Live events scheduled before that date still work through February 28, 2027.
- Meeting: classes, committees, office hours, and most everyday work. Everyone can talk and share.
- Webinar: workshops and trainings with registration. Attendees’ mics and cameras stay off unless the organizer allows them.
- Town hall: large one-way events with moderated Q&A, such as university updates or open forums.
To schedule a webinar or town hall: in the Teams Calendar, select the arrow next to New, then choose Webinar or Town hall. Fill in the details, add presenters, and select Publish.
Some features, such as public registration and audience size, depend on SXU’s Microsoft 365 license. Contact The Hub before planning a large or public event.
