Conferences is a program that makes conducting synchronous (real-time) discussion possible within your course. The Conferences tool allows you to broadcast real-time audio, video, and share presentation slides. You can also share other online resources. 

Your instructor may invite you to course-wide conferences or to set up personal conferences. If you cannot create a conference at the course level, this feature is disabled. You can set up your own conferences within Student Groups.
