PWReset mobile app - setup

Audience: Students, Faculty & Staff

If you are interested in the easiest way to reset your netID password, there's an app for that.

PWReset has the ability to link to the ManageEngine ADSelfServicePlus app (found on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.)

This gives the user the ability to receive PUSH notifications on their cell phone, warning them that their password is close to expiration, and allowing them to reset their password in one step.

Linking the mobile app to the PWReset account is simple. Here is a step-by-step process to link the two.

Step 1: Download the app

Step 2: Launch app and follow prompts

After launching the app and approving PUSH notifications, there's a slew of "instructional" pages. Skip them or just hit "next."

When you get to the page with "password reset" and "account unlock" featured, click the green "Login" button below and "ok" when it asks, then "Ok, got it."

Step 3: On the computer, go to pwreset.sxu.edu and log in

In the upper right hand of your PWReset panel, you should see an icon of a person. Click it, and then choose "mobile access." A window will appear with a QR Code.

Step 4: Hold your phone camera up to the code on your computer to scan the QR Code

The app will then ask you to say "yes" to push notifications, and ask you to sign in one more time. Do so, and then close the app. You're all set.
